PANS/PANDAS RESEARCH

The PPN Research Library is a comprehensive collection of published works related to PANDAS and PANS. The library includes the original published studies from the NIMH team that first reported on the PANDAS condition as well as the primary additional studies that followed. The library consists of summaries and select critiques, as well as the link and reference for each study.

Featured Research: Interferon-λ-neutralizing autoantibodies and common autoimmune disease autoantibodies in pediatric acute-onset neuropsychiatric syndrome

This study provides new evidence that a subset of children with PANS exhibit autoantibodies associated with established autoimmune diseases as well as functionally neutralizing antibodies against interferon lambda, further supporting immune dysregulation as a biological component of PANS. These findings expand current understanding of PANS pathophysiology and identify potential immune pathways that may inform future biomarker discovery and targeted therapeutic research.
