PPN Announces CSO Leadership Update

Dr. Susan Swedo is stepping back from her role as Chief Science Officer of PANDAS Physicians Network (PPN). Since 2019, Dr. Swedo has provided outstanding scientific leadership, advanced clinician education, and helped shape evidence-informed care for PANS and PANDAS as PPN’s CSO.

When announcing her decision to retire from the CSO position, Dr. Swedo stated, “I am proud of the work that we were able to do at PANDAS Physicians Network to advance understanding and improve clinical care of PANS and PANDAS. While I must step back from a leadership role, I remain deeply committed to PPN and hope to continue supporting its efforts to educate clinicians and improve the care delivered to these precious children.”

Dr. Swedo will continue working with PANDAS Physicians Network in a consultancy role as Chief Science Officer Emeritus. This update allows her to reduce her day-to-day responsibilities while dedicating more time to her family and community.
