Awareness is the first step.
Action is what heals.

PANS/PANDAS AWARENESS DAY
IS OCTOBER 9th!

PANS and PANDAS are devastating but treatable medical conditions. Despite affecting thousands of families, awareness, research, and access to treatment remain critically limited.

On October 9th, we unite parents, clinicians, and advocates to spotlight the urgent need for early diagnosis, evidence-based care, and funding for research. Your support can change lives—help us advance understanding, improve outcomes, and bring healing.

Be part of our vision to make PANS/PANDAS easily diagnosed and treated with accessible therapies that dramatically reduce suffering and lead to a cure.

BE AWARE.
PANS/PANDAS FAST FACTS

Recognize the Symptoms.
An abrupt, dramatic onset of OCD, restrictive eating, and other neuropsychiatric symptoms is a hallmark of the immune-mediated neuroinflammatory conditions PANS and PANDAS. Common associated symptoms include separation anxiety, emotional dysregulation, behavioral regression, academic decline, motor and/or sensory sensitivities, and urinary frequency.

Look for Infections.
Strep and other infections—such as Mycoplasma pneumoniae, influenza, upper respiratory infections, and sinusitis—can trigger a misdirected immune response resulting in neuroinflammation that causes behavioral changes and psychological distress.

Navigate the Diagnostic Flowchart for more information.

Know the Treatment Protocols.
Treatment for PANS and PANDAS is a three pronged approach that addresses the source (infections), the immune system dysfunction, and the symptoms. Treatment may include antibiotics, anti-inflammatories, immunomodulating therapies, and symptom management.

Refer to the PANS/PANDAS Treatment Flowcharts for guidance.
